Iris Kyle Spotlight

Iris Kyle was born in 1974 in Benton Harbor, Michigan, the fifth of six children. Her early athletic endeavors included running cross country, basketball and softball. She was an All-American in basketball, and received a number of athletic scholarship offers. Iris attended Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi on a basketball scholarship, majoring in business administration.

Kyle won her first contest in 1994 and earned her pro card in 1998. She has had a series of high placings as a professional, including seven consecutive top five showings at the Ms. Olympia. She holds the title of Ms. Olympia and is tied for the most overall wins with eight along with Lenda Murray (1990-1995, 2002, 2003), Lee Haney (Mr. Olympia 1984-1991), and Ronnie Coleman (Mr. Olympia 1998-2005). Iris just won the Ms. International title again and will be going for the record breaking win at the Olympia in 2013.

Iris typically competes at a bodyweight of approximately 155–161 pounds. In recent times Kyle had spent time trying to increase her marketability by auditioning for movies and TV shows.
