By @CPTLisaMWhite - Monica Brant is an icon. She has graced every fitness magazine cover from Ironman to Oxygen, and stood on the stages of the Arnold Classic and the Olympia. She is also well known for her glowing personality, F.E.M. camps, and can-do attitude.

However, when Brant announced that she would participate in track and field some people were surprised, but should not have been. Brant has been a true athlete all of her life, regardless of being on stage or not.

Saturday, June 30, was no different. Brant moved from the Olympia stage to the WBFF, only to cross the finish lines of the 2012 London Olympic trials. She participated in the Master’s Women’s International 400 meter race, and made the announcement on Facebook that she placed third.

Placed 3rd in the Olympic Trials tonight. I led the pack until the last 90 m. The 400m World Champion and the Outdoor National 400m Champion came in 1st and 2nd. I just need a lil' more time to condition that last bit! Next up is the Outdoor Nationals in Chicago in July and hoping to go to Worlds in Brazil in October. Right now I am enjoying my Proto Whey shake and taking pictures. It has been an amazing experience and I feel so blessed by God. Thank you to EVERYONE for all of your love and support. I appreciate and love you all! xoxo  - Monica Brant
