Who's the Best: CrossFit, Bodybuilding, Weightlifting And Powerlifting

Brooke Ence, Dana Linn Bailey, Mattie Rogers and Maddy Forberg battle in Brute Strength series - FITNESSVOLT

Brute Strength
Brute Strength launched a male athlete face-off last year and because it was received really well, these elite female athletes will get their chance to show each other who’s boss. Each competitor is accomplished in their respective sport and it should be a great test for all four of them.

The first episode was an introduction showcasing each competitor

Here’s a brief summary of each athlete:
Brooke Ence is a CrossFit athlete.
Dana Linn Bailey is the 2013 Ms. Olympia winner.
Mattie Rogers is a weightlifting championship medalist who holds U.S. record in the snatch, clean & Jerk and total.
Maddy Forberg is a National level Powerlifter.

The athletes will compete in four events and each competitor will have an opportunity to shine in their specialty. But, four additional events will level the playing field to show which elite female competitor is the most well-rounded.

The specialty events are the max clean (Weightlifter), max deadlift (Powerlifter), posedown (Bodybuilder), and CrossFit workout (CrossFit athlete). Then, the four additional events will challenge each athlete on a level playing field.

90 Day Fiancé's Anfisa Nava Pursues Bodybuilding while Husband is in Prison

Anfisa Nava
PEOPLE: Anfisa Nava has completely transformed her body.

The 90 Day FiancĂ© alum, who appeared on season 4 of the TLC docu-series, recently revealed that she’s committing herself to her fitness as her husband spends the next two and a half years in prison — and the hard work is certainly paying off.

Anfisa shared before-and-after photos of herself on Instagram to show off the impressive results.

Anfisa NavaIn December, Anfisa addressed her husband Jorge Nava’s sentencing for the first time, admitting that it’s “been very hard” on her. “It has been very hard on me because Jorge and I are not just husband and wife but we are truly best friends,” she wrote. “We used to share everything with each other and since we aren’t together physically now and only get to talk to each other once a day it feels like a big part of me was taken away.”

Anfisa said deciding to speak out about the emotional toll of his imprisonment was a difficult decision, as she’s not used to showing her softer side to the public.
“I don’t like to show my emotions to the public, especially if I believe that it will make me look weak and pathetic. It’s just the way I am — I’d rather be thought of as a ‘cold-hearted bitch than a ‘crybaby,’ ” she explained.

But now that she’s being forced to adjust to life on her own, Anfisa has turned her passion for exercise into a stress-reliever.

“To fill the void that I felt after Jorge was sentenced and I was left on my own I decided to try to stay busy and do what I enjoy the most and it was working out,” she wrote. “And ONE DAY I want to take it on a higher level and compete in NPC bikini division.”

The Sudden Demise Of Ms. Olympia Competition In Women’s Bodybuilding

The era of overly muscular female bodybuilders is over!
FitnessVolt:  If you’re unfamiliar with the amount of muscularity many elite female bodybuilders possessed back in the 80s and 90s; then allow us to take you back in time. It all started when female bodybuilders like Lenda Murray (8x Ms. Olympia) and Bev Francis (2x Ms. Olympia Runner-up) appeared on the scene.

These women really took the female physique to new levels and would be impressive even by today’s standards. But the problem is… the standards of muscular development were lowered in 2015 and there was no more Ms. Olympia.

Before the 80s there was no such thing as a female bodybuilder who looked freakishly muscular until these two women took to the stage. However, there is one thing which really separates female bodybuilders in the 80s/90s to the more modern competitors.

Booty Builders

Natasha Aughey booty
Is “leg day every day” the future of Female Muscle? With the decline of the traditional female bodybuilder, more and more of the current muscle scene is focused on women’s legs and ass. It makes sense since a strong upper body is considered masculine while “child-bearing hips” with a big badonk-a-donk are symbols of femininity.

I’ve used Natasha Aughey to illustrate my point, but you can easily insert Bakhar Nabieva, Suelen Bisolati, Gal Yates or hundreds more. While I wish massive female muscle was accepted, I love these modern “Booty Builders”.

Who knows, maybe this is a vision of things to come. Sample581MA0219. An Area Orion female muscle-ish morph.
